   The airport in Sligo at present serves the need of the area. From a air transport point of view two international airports are within acceptable distances i.e. Derry and Knock. If you look at the existing 1800m long airports in the country we have Derry,Belfast int, Belfast Harbour,Dublin, Waterford( underconstruction), Cork, Kerry, Shannon and Ireland West Knock. Looking at the map Knock seems to be located within 50mins of Sligo Town and it would seem that the resourses should be put into that airport, to improve transport links. The western rail corridor should be linked to that Airport.

   Sligo should ensure the road infrastruture is improved to Derry and road/rail to Knock.
